$1,650,000 Charity Drive
The 2019 Double Up Drive has ended.
Thank you for your support!
With the help of a last-minute matching offer we raised $1,710,762,
bringing our total impact with matching to $3,421,524!

How it works
Our team is matching up to $1,650,000 in donations to twelve highly impactful charities. Because each matcher brings their own personality and donation preferences to the drive, matches are allocated into three charity funds. Current funds remaining can be found above this section. There are two $50,000 bonuses for the first two funds to hit their matching cap (this can be the same fund).
The maximum donation per charity per person is $10,000, except donations to 80,000 Hours, Centre for Effective Altruism, Effective Altruism Long-Term Future Fund, and the Forethought Foundation, which will be handled on a case-by-case basis. For large donations to these charities or non-U.S. residents who would like advice on intermediary organizations that can assist with tax benefits, please get in touch before donating.
To have your contribution matched, follow the links below to donate to our charities during the drive period of December 3rd through December 27th, 2019 (or until we exhaust our funds) then forward us your receipt. Please note that matches are calculated in the order that emails are received.
Some charities are more effective than others
Charities vary widely when it comes to transparency, financial efficiency, and overall effectiveness. Effective altruism is a research-based philosophy which considers evidence and reason to prioritize causes, attempting to determine where donations can do the most good. It focuses on issues that are large in scale, generally neglected, and highly solvable, where increased funding is best indicated to increase the quality of and/or save the most lives.
